We will have to take a loss on some of Pete & Pedro’s products due to a situation I want to discuss today. I want to share what’s going on with Pete & Pedro because you are why we are successful.

Lesson One | Nothing in business is flashy

One thing that sucks is when you do the best job that you can, and it doesn’t matter. That is what’s happening with Pete & Pedro, which has been a grind for the last ten years. My team and I have been doing what we can to make the business profitable and prosperous, growing the company to nearly $10 million annually.

The first lesson I’d like to share is that nothing’s flashy regarding business. It’s not what you see on social media. It’s not fast, and you have to focus on fundamentals. Building a business requires you to be profitable, which means you need to manage inventory. Inventory is the lifeblood of any business, which brings me to the problem I’m having.

Lesson Two | Cash flow is king

About a month ago, one of our most prominent vendors announced that they were killing off a large portion of their business, which included about 700 businesses. Pete & Pedro is large enough that we were not killed off in the process, but the vendor raised their minimum order quantities to an astronomical amount. For our hero products, it’s okay, but it’s a non-starter for many of our other products that don’t move in significant quantities. We want to avoid tying up our cash in inventory.

We will have to discontinue some products, including ones I love. The critical issue is that some of these products are mid-level, where we need to sell more to justify the unit order. So we’re having to make some hard calls. We’re going to have to move some of these dead soldiers out the door and be able to afford some bigger orders coming up.

Lesson Three | You’re going to get punched in the face. Get back up!

Last year, we had our best year ever. We were starting on a great track this year and moving in the right direction. Then, this bomb dropped on us, presenting another business lesson. In business, you need to be able to get punched in the face repeatedly and get back up. You need to be able to move forward. You will get smacked in the knee with a baseball bat when you think everything is good and moving in the right direction. You need to pick yourself back up and figure out what to do.

Running a business involves systematically solving problems that never stop. When you think everything is cool and comfortable, you must adjust and be nimble. Unfortunately, Pete & Pedro will lose some of its outstanding products. The good news is that we have a lot of amazing products, and we’re going to do our best to bring back some of the other SKUs that we’re having to kill right now or in the near future.

10 Men’s Hairstyles Women HATE https://iamalpham.com/mens-hairstyles-women-hate-2024/ Sun, 04 Feb 2024 23:23:14 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=53998 A few weeks ago, I published a video talking about the best men’s hairstyles of 2024. Today, I will flip it around and review the worst hairstyles that women absolutely hate. Keep in mind that the popular hairstyles for men in 2024 have more natural flowing textures and are not crunchy.

It’s about embracing natural texture if you have curls or longer hair. If you’re losing your hair, either stop it or fix it. Ensure you condition your hair at least three times a week and upgrade your products. Remember that your spicy senorita wants to run her fingers through your luscious locks; if it’s dry, brittle, or crusty, she can’t get her hands through it.

First, I will demonstrate how I fix my hair after I shower. Check it out. Sea SALT Spray is a game changer that every man should be using. It adds weightless volume and more texture. My Laifen Swift hair dryer is the best on the market. It takes literally 60 seconds to get my hair dry. Save up to 35% at Amazon OR on the Laifen site. To get an additional discount on the Laifen SE Model, use code 10LFVD. And last, Texture Powder is one of my favorite products because you can style your hair without adding many other products. My hair looks more natural, and I can restyle my hair easily throughout the day.

Women say ‘no’ to these men’s hairstyles.

  1. The mullet. I’m not talking about the modern mullet that’s tapered on the side with some length in the back. I’m talking about the classic mullet. This style looks terrible.
  2. Wild hair. Untamed and unkempt hair is not desirable to women. She does not want you to look like a wildebeest.
  3. Harsh cuts. A fauxhawk is stupid, so stop it. Also, the undercut was super popular years ago, but it looks terrible now. A hard undercut stops abruptly. To maximize your sexiness, you need to blend softly with a gradual transition.
  4. Harsh styles & colors. She will hate it if your hair is hard, crunchy, and doesn’t move. And if it’s greasy, that isn’t good, too. Spiky, hard-gelled hair is also not desirable. Weird colors are also a ‘no.’ If your hair is pink or blue, get rid of it. It doesn’t look cute, fun, or festive; it looks trashy and nasty.
  5. The bowl cut. This look is terrible.
  6. TikTok hair. Young dudes are growing their hair long and curly everywhere. It looks like hell.
  7. Camouflaging thinning. If you’re losing it, shave it or go to Bosley. Do not try to hide it. Do something about it, or shave it off.
  8. Man bun or top knot. If you’re rocking a man bun, it’s time to lose it. She doesn’t love it if you’re rocking a tiny top knot, which is even worse.
  9. Shaved-off sideburns. Sideburns help frame your face and finish your hairstyle. If you’re somebody getting a bald fade, you don’t need them. But you need sideburns if you have any hair and are not rocking a beard. Instead of cutting them straight across, a pro tip is to angle them slightly to follow your jawline to enhance your hairstyle and frame your face. Your jaw will appear more substantial.
  10. Dandruff. If you have flakes, you need a stronger shampoo. If you have an itchy scalp or look down at your black shirt with flakes, eliminate them with coal tar.

8 Hacks to Have a Better Looking Face https://iamalpham.com/hacks-to-have-a-better-looking-face/ Fri, 02 Feb 2024 02:19:11 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=53945 If you’re ready to take your looks to the next level, you’re going to love today’s video because I’m going to share with you some of my favorite handsome enhancing hacks to make your face look better. Using these tips you will become more attractive and aesthetic.
  1. Use cold to your advantage. (a) Ice roller. This is the secret weapon of the ultra-handsome and beautiful. Freeze it and then use it in the morning when you’re a little swollen and puffy. When you roll it over your face, hold it for about 5 to 10 seconds, and then move on. You can apply a little gentle pressure. The cold will shrink blood vessels and help push a lot of the fluid retention out of your face. (b) Ice compress. You can wear an ice pack mask on your eyes in the morning to reduce puffiness and dark circles. The cold will shrink the capillaries and reduce a lot of the puffiness you’re experiencing. Poor Man’s version of this bad boy is using a bag of frozen vegetables. (c) Cold spoons. Run your spoons under water and then put them in the freezer. Take them out when frozen and put them on your eyes. Keep in place until the spoons get warm, which is around 3 minutes.
  2. Clean up your eyebrows. Eyebrows enhance the strength and structure of your face and having nice, clean eyebrows is a great way to do this. But, you need to find the right boundaries. Check out my example on how to use a comb to determine your boundaries. Keep in mind you need two eyebrows, not a unibrow. And you want to pluck sparingly and not overdo it.
  3. Reduce breakouts and blemishes. Use a clay mask at least once a week. Put it on and let it dry; thereafter, rinse it off to extract impurities and toxins that have built up in your skin. Tiege Hanley has a clay mask that is the best. Also, larger pores end up with more clogged pores and blackheads. You can use Biore Strips or knockoffs from Amazon. Keep them on hand but don’t use them all the time — about once a month if you are prone to getting clogged.
  4. Reduce clogged pores. You need a good skincare routine. Wash your face twice a day, morning and night, to remove oil, dirt, and grime that builds up. Twice a day you need to moisturize. In the morning use a moisturizer with an SPF of 20 to protect you from the sun’s harmful rays, and then at night before you go to bed, use another moisturizer. You also need to exfoliate twice a week to keep your pores free of buildup. All of this comes with Tiege Hanley’s Level 1 System.
  5. Use retinol for clear skin. Retinol has also been used to help people with bad acne scars. It also will even skin tone, shrink pore size, and reduce blackheads. It reduces oiliness, reduces wrinkles, and is the single best product on the market. I use Tiege Hanley’s Retinol Stick every night after I wash my face.
  6. Be mindful of what you consume. (a) Increase the amount of water you’re drinking. You need 120 oz a day minimum. Add a bit of lemon to give you a boost of vitamin C and a natural diuretic. (b) Eat low-carb. Your face will become more chiseled and defined if you reduce the amount of carbs you’re eating. Starchy carbs cause water retention, which a lot of times is in your face. (c)Eat low sodium. Foods that are processed have a lot of sodium and sulfites which will hang out on your face. The water will stay and not flush. So, drinking a lot of water will help to flush everything out, allowing your skin to be clearer.
  7. Use facial hair to your advantage. (a) Grow a beard and edge it properly to give your face more definition, strength, and structure. It will help to define your jawline, so make sure you’re edging it properly. Even if you can’t grow a beard, any kind of facial hair will make you look so much better. But if it’s super long and straggly or patchy, keep it a bit shorter. (b) Have proper sideburns. Don’t cut them off at the top of your ear. Properly cut sideburns help frame your face, finish your hairstyle, and enhance the visual strength of your jaw. Instead of cutting them off straight or blunt, cut them at an angle that will follow your jawline and give the illusion that your jaw is stronger than it may be. Check out my demonstration of where the sideburns should land.
  8. Throw on a pair of cool frames. Glasses are a great way to add detail, dimension, and attractiveness to your face. They will make you look more intelligent as well. Women find guys to me more attractive and look smarter when they’re wearing glasses. Glasses can also help balance a symmetrical face and strengthen a weak jaw.

7 Signs Your Hair Is NOT Healthy… Even If It Looks Good! https://iamalpham.com/mens-hair-unhealthy-even-when-it-looks-good/ Thu, 21 Dec 2023 02:15:51 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=53847 A few years ago, I noticed that I was starting to thin. My widow’s peak changed, and I saw more of my scalp in pictures and videos. I noticed more hair on my pillowcase and in the drain. At that point, I freaked out. My first step was to purchase Finasteride to stop it, but I never took it because I was worried about taking the drug route.

I wanted to know if I modify behaviors to stop, fix, and reverse the thinning. I’m pleased to announce my hair is now as thick and amazing as always. That being said, I want to review a few warning signs that your hair is unhealthy even though it looks good. I also want to cover things you do daily that are damaging your luscious locks.

Listen to these warning signs if you want to keep your hair.

  1. Dandruff. Dandruff is not only embarrassing, but it’s potentially damaging your hair. Dandruff could be caused by a dry scalp or seborrheic dermatitis, a yeast-like fungus that feeds on oil. I have dandruff and have tried all standard shampoos, but nothing cured it. That is until I found the active ingredient Coal Tar in Neutrogena T-Gel. I ultimately manufactured a better version, Pete & Pedro Control, with ingredients I thought needed to be included. I doubled the Coal Tar and added other active ingredients such as tea tree oil and glycerin.
  2. Dry, brittle, frizzy hair. Your hair strand is made of two parts: the cortex and the cuticle. The cuticle can get cracked and damaged (not appearing smooth or uniform along the strand) from not being conditioned or protected. You can damage it through hot showers, not applying conditioners, using cheap products, and utilizing high heat. Applying conditioner helps to replace hydration lost through shampooing. Cheap products contain much-drying alcohol, and utilizing heat is also drying. If you’re using heat, upgrade your hair dryer to the ionic Laifen Swift. Make sure you pat your hair dry to reduce breakage rather than drying it with a towel.
  3. Hair loss. Most men will experience hair loss or thinning throughout their life. The truth is that it’s less common than you think. If your hair starts to fall out, you should check your testosterone levels, which can be affected by EDCs in your products.
  4. Thick roots, thin ends. This is a sign that your hair follicle is changing, as your hair starts to get thinner and finer before you start losing your hair.
  5. Poor hair nutrition. Make sure to increase your nutrition to have as healthy hair as possible. I started using a natural product called Nutrafol for Men to give my hair and scalp all the natural vitamins they need. Also, taking a biotin supplement is unbelievably beneficial for your skin, nails, and hair. It will help grow hair thicker, faster, and to the next level.
  6. Dirty scalp. If you don’t shampoo properly, your scalp can get neglected. Scrub your scalp to remove buildup and ensure it is stimulated. You can use a shampoo brush to cleanse your scalp deep and stimulate blood to the surface.
  7. Unconditioned. Use conditioner on your hair by applying it and then chilling it out for about 2 to 5 minutes before rinsing. This process will allow the conditioner to penetrate the hair strand to make it healthier, smoother, and stronger.

8 Best Men’s Haircuts of 2024 https://iamalpham.com/best-mens-haircuts-of-2024/ Mon, 04 Dec 2023 02:15:20 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=53796 As you know, I own a hair salon, Salon Posta, and a men’s hair product company, Pete & Pedro. Naturally, I love seeing the evolution of men’s hair from the front lines. What I’ve been observing over the past few years has been inspiring as men embrace many natural textures and more flowing styles. However, they’re also reverting to some classic styles I grew up with.

Hairstyles change and evolve. Like the undercut, styles that were popular before are not so popular anymore. Overly stylized hair is also less popular because guys are gravitating towards more natural and loan maintenance styles. Men are having fun and being playful while definitely looking sexy. That said, I want to cover some styles that will blend different styles more than ever.

First, I want to mention two products you will want to upgrade to maximize your hairstyle and make it look as fresh as possible. First, a sea salt spray adds volume, texture, and dimension. Second, you should upgrade your hair dryer to a quality device. I recommend the Laifen Swift, which is as high quality as a Dyson, works better than a Dyson, and the price is a fraction of the cost. Get a Laifen Swift now for $80 off! It ends December 20 at either Amazon or their website. The special discount will be applied automatically at checkout.

Men’s Hairstyles for 2024

  1. Buzz cut, crew cut. You take the super short all the way down for a buzz cut, and the crew cut is a little bit longer and faded on the temples. The faded crew is one of the sexiest styles out there. Add a beard for a rugged and manly look if you want to elevate it. The French crop is like a crew but a bit longer and styled on the top. The sides are tighter and tapered, with a fade depending on your preference. It’s like a modified and modern Caesar cut.
  2. Classic side part. This style is old-money perfection and will always be popular because it looks great on everybody. A few options for styling depend on the product you’re using, whether a pomade, a matte product, or a texture powder.
  3. Modern mullet. This bad boy won’t quit and is getting better with age. It’s shorter on top with fringe or a bit more textured. You could also go curly. Then, the back is grown out. One key to making this look incredible is tapering and fading the temples. It’s almost a faux hawk meets mullet. If you want to combine a mullet with a beard, that’s amazing.
  4. Messy fringe. It’s more stylized, and many more guys will be going low fade on the temples and back. It will give it more shape and a more stylized look. It’s casual, and whether you have curly hair or a lot of texture, it will look sexy as hell.
  5. The flow. This is letting your hair grow slightly longer and then pushing it back. You could slick it back or do some curtains. It’s a more natural, free-flowing look that looks crazy sexy. You’ll see more man buns returning this year than ever because of the last few years of guys letting their hair grow and embracing the length. You also see some messy buns, top knots, and sumo styles.
  6. Slickback. This style is perfect for guys with medium-length hair who want to be a bit more polished and have an old-money aesthetic without doing a side part. You need a high-hold product to keep the hair back. The style is easy to do right out of the shower. After you apply product, you push it back. It will fall down as it dries, so you’ll need a high-quality product with a medium shine. I would not recommend hair gel because you’ll look like you’re wearing a helmet, but you could hit it with some hairspray to lock it into place.
  7. The quiff. Your hair texture, length, how tight you want the sides, and expected maintenance will determine what you do with the sides. You could go with a tight fade that’s tightened every two to three weeks. Or you can go with something more natural with longer sides.
  8. Luscious locks. If your hair is longer than medium but not down your back, this is more like surfer hair. It will be messy, textured, and a bit more playful. The style only works well with guys with super thin or straight hair because you need to have a bit more texture and wave for some natural volume. Sea salt spray and a texturizing power powder will make it look insanely sexy.

10 Mistakes DAMAGING Your Good Looks (and How to FIX Them) https://iamalpham.com/mistakes-damaging-mens-good-looks-and-how-to-fix-them/ Wed, 13 Sep 2023 05:14:46 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=53417 You don’t even realize how good you could potentially look if you stop making the mistakes that I will review in today’s video. The truth is you cannot afford not to look your best! It is never been any more competitive time, and you need every advantage of your competition. You can control how you look and present yourself, but unfortunately, some mistakes damage men’s good looks.

How to look your very best

  1. Fat face. It’s not that you have chubby cheeks; it’s that you’re retaining water. A diet high in sugars, starchy carbs, sulfites, and salts or insufficient water consumption contributes to water retention, bags, and a weaker jaw. Clean up your diet and increase the amount of water you consume to 1 gallon of lemon water daily. The lemon is an actual diuretic to help flush the body and subcutaneous water.
  2. Grooming goofs. (a) Shaved eyebrows. Do not use a razor to shave your eyebrows. When using a razor, the entire fat hair cross-section of the hair is visible. So, if you remove them all at once, they will give you a 5 o’clock shadow on your eyebrows. Instead, use a pair of high-quality tweezers to remove the hair from the root so it grows back as a point rather than a fat cross-section. Never remove the hairs above your eyebrows either because those are the ones that give your eyebrow masculine shape a natural appearance. Also, don’t make your eyebrows too thin because they will look like a chick. (b) Removing sideburns at the top of your ear. Sideburns help to frame your face and finish your hairstyle. Do not remove them too high by ensuring they come down around the tragus. A pro tip is to slant them slightly to follow your jawline to help enhance the visual illusion of a strong jaw. Speaking of a strong jaw, do not carve up underneath your chin. (c) Edging super tight and thin. Do not edge your facial hair super tight or thin with small little lines. You wanted a more natural look.
  3. Dark circles. Dark circles can be caused by not getting enough sleep or rubbing your eyes. The skin underneath your eyes is very delicate and soft, and you can potentially damage your skin by rubbing your eyes. Puffy eyes can also indicate allergies, sleep problems, or a diet issue. A pro tip is using high-quality eye cream like Tiege Hanley’s. Using it twice daily around the orbital sockets will make your eyes look fresh and bright, reducing dark circles and puffiness.
  4. Not using effective skin care products. Use skincare products to look handsome now and age like fine wine.
  5. Drinking & smoking. Alcohol will dehydrate you, which is terrible for your skin. Any kind of alcohol, cigarettes, nicotine, and weed will destroy your looks.
  6. Neglecting oral hygiene. The quantity and quality of your teeth don’t matter as much as the whiteness of your smile. If your teeth are yellow or discolored, whiten them.
  7. Nasty hands and feet. Nasty, bitten, and crusty hands and feet are not a good look. Make sure your nails are trimmed and exfoliated.
  8. Whacked style. Style is not about wearing the latest trends or being super fashion-forward. It’s all about wearing clothing that fits your body and is coordinated with purpose and intention. Dress well, which is one of the quickest and easiest things you can do to be respected by others and perceived as more attractive.
  9. Bad personal presentation. (a) Poor body language damages good looks. Make sure to stand with your chest up, shoulders back, and head elevated, looking people in the eye. Walk like you mean it. (b) Also, using filler words is poor form. Speak concisely and get your point across without using many filler words.
  10. Game over hair. If your hair is greasy and oily, it’s gross. Everyone can tell if you’re thinning, receding, and trying to hide it. If you want to fix it, go to Bosley. Get a new haircut if your hairstyle does not compliment your face shape.

8 Men’s Body Parts That Look BETTER with Hair https://iamalpham.com/mens-body-parts-that-look-better-with-hair/ Wed, 06 Sep 2023 05:03:31 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=53377 I’ve had facial hair for the last 30 years. The other day, I shaved it off and showed it to my wife, and she told me to grow it back. So I started to grow it back because she hated it. My face looks better with hair, and so does yours! Today, I want to discuss a few areas on a man’s body that should always have hair.

Of course, eyebrows should have hair, but hair needs to go in between them. Back hair needs to go, and shoulder hair is not sexy. Other places on a man’s body look better with hair, however. Depending on the length, you will look more aesthetic and attractive when you have hair. But personal preference always comes into play regarding men’s body hair.

Going, going, gone? Body hair that should stay!

  1. Pubes. A recent study polled 300 women and asked what level of grooming they expect from a man. 64 women said they prefer trimming down, and 16 want the pubic region shaved bald. 20% like it natural, as in monster man bush, but 84% of women desire some hair. Remember that pube pruning is a personal preference, whether freeform amoeba, natural, or racing stripe.
  2. Stomach & chest. Shaving your stomach is okay if you’re lean with under 15% body fat. Most men with stomach hair look more aesthetic if groomed super short. With body fat over 15%, leave some hair. For chest hair, trim it short, but leave some because shaving a soft, doughy body will reflect light, making you look softer and dirtier. If you’re lean and remove the hair, you will look leaner and more muscular.
  3. Head. A cool hairstyle can balance your face. If you’re losing or want to regain your natural hair, it’s time to see Bosley. Their counselors are fantastic; they’ve been in the hair loss business for over 45 years, and they have a solution for any stage of hair loss. If you’re experiencing hair loss, you can use glasses to help bring your eyes down and focus on the center of your face. Next, do not shave off sideburns or shave them too high or straight across. Leave your sideburns to frame your face and finish your hairstyle by shaving them at a slight angle about the middle of the ear. This will help to strengthen your jaw because it follows your jawline.
  4. Face. When executed correctly, facial hair is the best thing you can do to boost your sex appeal and attraction level. Facial hair is the equivalent of makeup for women. A beard can help strengthen a weak jaw and bring interest and dimension to a man’s face. If your beard is patchy, let your facial hair grow for 30 days, analyze which areas are patchy, and then modify your hair accordingly. Many facial hairstyles do not require a full, thick beard. Another area that needs hair is underneath your chin. Do not remove the hair under your jaw when edging and shaving because it will make your jaw look weak, fat, and doughy. Check out my demonstration.
  5. Armpits. Armpits look better with hair, but don’t have it super long or unmanaged. Nicely trim your pit hair to be more aesthetic. If you want to shave it, that’s a personal preference, but it looks better with hair.
  6. Legs. I shave my legs, which I have done for a long time because I’m a bodybuilder. I like to work out, and I want to see the definition. I also have a tan. When skin is pasty white and hair is removed, the skin will look even more pasty white and awkward. Hair softens white skin, so I recommend not removing much body hair if you don’t have a tan. If you have super long leg hair, you can take it shorter, but make sure you’ve got a tan or are muscular. The downside to removing or shaving your leg hair is that your legs will look smaller. Conversely, removing the hair is totally acceptable if you work out and want to see definition.
  7. Arms. Arms look better without hair because the man’s forearm is one of the sexiest body parts. Removing the hair will make your forearm look more defined and vascular. If you have a ton of arm hair, your arms will not show vascularity or leanness.
  8. Butt cheeks. I remove the hair entirely because my cheeks get fuzzy, which looks weird. Word to the wise, do not use a razor to shave your butt cheeks because you’ll realize the mistake when it grows back.

How I Grew My Hair +2″ in 30 Days! {SUPER FAST HAIR GROWTH} https://iamalpham.com/how-to-make-hair-grow-super-fast-30-days/ Mon, 21 Aug 2023 12:16:30 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=52752 Want to know something crazy? My hair grows about an inch and a half per month. I have to go for regular haircuts every two weeks, where they take off over half an inch every time. But my hair is not always grown that quickly. It used to grow about a half inch, which is normal, but I started doing a few steps over the last few years that have made my hair grow fast. My hairstylist says I have the fastest-growing hair she’s ever seen. I want to review some ways you can make your hair grow thicker, faster, and quicker.

Steps to take for faster-growing + thick hair!

  • Biotin supplement. The B vitamin biotin absolutely makes your hair grow thick, strong, and fast. If you want your hair to grow faster and healthier, take biotin. Pete & Pedro’s Biotin Gummies are not only easy to take but also delicious.
  • Omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3s are incredible for your body and critical for your hair to be healthy and grow fast. Salmon is power-packed with omega-3, which I eat over a pound and a half weekly. If you don’t like fish or don’t want to eat salmon, you can take an omega-3 supplement daily.
  • Shampoo and condition daily. This contradicts a lot of advice you hear online, but the goal is to get oil and product out of your hair and keep your scalp super clean.
  • Coal tar. I use Pete & Pedro Control with the active ingredient coal tar. Control has the highest amount in any product you can find on the market for dandruff shampoo. It cured and stopped my dandruff. Coal tar is effective in reducing hair loss as well. I use it twice a day.
  • Biotin products. Biotin-infused shampoos and conditioners such as Pete & Pedro Volume and Power are excellent for nourishing your hair and making it grow stronger, thicker, and faster.
  • Argan oil. Argan oil is incredible for hydrating brittle and damaged hair. Argan oil is like liquid gold for your hair and will help facilitate growth. Try Pete & Pedro’s Hydrate argan oil shampoo.
  • Shampoo brush. A shampoo brush brings blood and nutrients to the scalp and hair follicles. You can also use it on your beard because the same principles apply.
  • Exercise. Exercising regularly will facilitate and stimulate hair growth. Whether cardio, HIIT training, or lifting weights, your heart pumps blood throughout your body. More oxygen is carried to different areas, including your hair.
  • Upgrade hair products. Cheap products have higher alcohol content and inferior ingredients that can harm your hair. Spend more money on higher quality products that don’t have sulfites or parabens. High-quality products will perform better and are healthier for your hair. They won’t dry out and damage your hair.
  • Want to know what product is right for your hair? Take one of our quizzes, then build your own grooming kit, which we help you walk through step by step. Also, if you want to check out our switching guide, it shows all the popular hair styling products and the Pete & Pedro equivalent. It makes switching to a higher-quality product super easy.

The ULTIMATE Grooming Habits Ranking {BEST to WORST} https://iamalpham.com/the-ultimate-grooming-habits-ranking-best-to-worst/ Wed, 28 Jun 2023 05:15:28 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=53061 In 2008, I posted my first grooming video on YouTube. Over the years, I have published thousands of tips and tricks to be well-groomed and look fantastic. But all of these tips are not created evil. So today, I will go through the best to the worst. The top is the (S) sex machine level all the way down to (F). These tricks and tips fall into different categories depending on if you’re doing something right or wrong.

Determine what works for you because what works for me doesn’t necessarily mean that’s right for you. Identify the steps that you need to do and then implement them on a routine basis always to be sexy and smelling and looking incredible.

Grooming Routine Tier Notes

Beards. Beards can make a man look sexy, but they can also make a man look super stupid if it’s not trimmed or edged correctly. Men can look like wild savages if their beards are not well-maintained or groomed. Beards are the quickest and easiest step men can take to have sexier faces and more structured jaws. Think of a beard as a female equivalent to makeup. But don’t trim underneath the neck where the fat meat is hanging out, creating a double chin appearance. Also, have a good grooming tool which I recommend the Brio Beardscape V2 for your beard and body. Brio’s Zero Blade will take skin bald, so if you suffer from razor burn or bumps, this is a perfect option for not using a razor. Do not use the Zero Blade on your testicles or scrotum because you will cut your nuts.

Eyebrows. Again, this can be (S) sex machine or all the way down to the (F) tier. If you have wild, crazy eyebrows, this is not sexy. But on the flip side, if you overly groom or even shave your eyebrows, you will look potentially worse.

Skincare. You need to care for your skin, but all skin care tips and products were not created equally. Moisturize daily with an SPF before leaving the house, wash your face twice daily, and exfoliate twice weekly. Also, eye creams and anti-aging serums depend on your age.

Body hair management. Shaving your legs is less critical than shaving other areas. If you have a lot of chest hair, it’s okay to remove it, but it’s not mandatory. Mandatory is removing your back hair, as most women don’t want to feel a big rug when wrapping their arms around you. Also, butt cheeks are not as essential — but you do not want to shave them. Shaving the hair from your testicles is critical, and shaving your pubes is a personal preference. You don’t want a massive man bush, but how you trim it is a personal preference.

Oral hygiene. Make sure your breath doesn’t smell funky and your teeth are white. A smile is always attractive, but if you’re not smiling because you’re insecure about your teeth, check out some orthodontic procedures. However, veneers look fake, being too big and white. A clean white smile is the best.

Nose hair. You have to trim them!

Shampooing + conditioning. Yes, you need clean hair. How often to shampoo is determined by how much oil you produce naturally and how much product you use. I shampoo daily because I like clean hair, and I’m oily. Also, I condition once weekly (at least once a week is recommended for all men). If you have short hair or your hair isn’t dry, damaged, or brittle, it’s not as important, however.

Hairstyle selection. Your selection should be specific to your face shape. Yes, trends will also dictate what looks suitable and appropriate, but if you’re thinning or balding, don’t try to hide it. Either embrace your hair loss or go to Bosley because you don’t have to lose your hair if you don’t want to.

Body odor management. Shower and use deodorant daily. Ball powder also is a must, especially if you’re single and actively dating. Fragrance is one of the quickest and easiest things you can do to make a great first impression. Smell incredible but don’t wear too much, which can be offensive (optimal is three squirts).

How to FIX Flat & Boring Hair! 6 Hacks for {INSTANT VOLUME} https://iamalpham.com/how-to-fix-flat-boring-hair-6-hacks-for-instant-volume/ Mon, 12 Jun 2023 05:04:34 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=53040 Boring and flat hair sucks. That’s why I’m going to help you fix it today! There’s nothing worse than getting a cool cut, ready to be sexy, but when you look in the mirror, your hair is flat and lifeless.

When it comes to your hair having texture, practically all styles look fantastic when you dry them and use some of the styling products I will discuss. It’s all about creating life and separation so your hair is not flat. Also, if you have thin fine hair, these products and methods are an incredible way to give your hair thickness and fullness.

Tricks to fix lifeless hair

  1. Layers. If your stylist or barber did not give you layers, you cannot get piece-y separations. A proper cut is critical for your hair to look best. One of the downsides of going to a barber is they can do fading and blending. They leave the top of the hair one length that will be heavy and fall down instead of a style that creates different layers moving up the head. A stylist must go in and create separate layers by making each layer shorter to create an illusion of thick hair.
  2. Volumizing products. Using volumizing shampoo and volumizing conditioner with biotin and rice protein will create thickness and strengthen the hair.
  3. Sea salt spray pre-styler. Use sea salt spray to maximize whatever hairstyle you’re rocking. It will provide light, weightless volume that you can use with your other hair products. And another tip is making sure not to use too much hair product because the more you use, the heavier your hair will get and the more challenging time your hair will have standing up with volume.
  4. Better hair dryer. You don’t want a hair dryer that does more damage than good — that burns your hair and scalp. Dyson’s cost $450, which is crazy! That’s an insane price. But my buddy Travis compared the Dyson to the Laifen Swift, a fraction of the cost (use code AARON20), and found it a comparable product with exceptional technology. Your hair will be healthier and have more volume with no damage in a fraction of a time of a standard hair dryer. It’s the best hair dryer I’ve ever used, even better than the Dyson. Check out my demonstration.
  5. Texture powder. Texture powders have been making a big surge lately because they can be used on dry hair without any product or as a finisher. You can restyle throughout the day with the powder as well.
  6. Keep your hands off. Putting your hands through or in your hair is one of the biggest mistakes that flatten your hair. If you put your hands in your hair, you’re transferring all the dirt, grime, and oil from your hands to your hair. Your hair will get weighed down over the day.

7 BEST Hairstyles for Men {2023} https://iamalpham.com/best-hairstyles-for-men-2023/ Wed, 24 May 2023 05:30:49 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=52949 2023 men’s hairstyles gravitate toward more flowy casual styles requiring less maintenance and products. The less upkeep is exciting, so today, I’m reviewing some of my personal pics for the best 2023 haircuts. I will accompany that information with what products to use if you want to obtain them and make your hairstyle look amazing.

The inspiration for today’s video is that I’m ready for a hairstyle change, and I’m interested in what style you think I should rock. Should I grow it out? Should I make it shorter? I will not shave my head, however. Comment here.

Check out Pete & Pedro’s 2023 Men’s Look Book Hairstyling Guide, where we show you many different amazing styles and what product(s) will be best suited to obtain that style. When you upgrade and elevate the quality of your products, your hair will be healthier and look more amazing.

  1. French crop. Casual and cool, it’s low maintenance and timeless. The style has various versions, with the sides and back tight and the front pulled forward like a modified scissor cut. Pay attention to the piece-y separation and texture. The style has a lot of movement. A barber should use razors or thinning shears to give the style more definition and body. Sea SALT Spray will give this style life and volume. Use SALT as a pre-styler after a shower and then follow it with Hair Clay, a lighter product with a matte finish. Take the style to the next level with Texture Power which lets you style your hair without looking like you have product in it.
  2. Modern mullet. This style is one of the sexiest, with longer hair in the back and shorter on the sides. On the top, you have different options and variations, which are all bad boy and dangerous looking. Grow out the back, take the sides tighter, and do whatever you want with the top. You could do a French crop, Caesar cut, side-part, curtains, and more. I would use a product for what you want the top to do. You could use SALT or Texture Powder + Hair Clay or Hair Putty. If you want the top looser and more free-flowing, use Hair Cream or Smooth leave-in conditioner to reduce flyaways and frizz.
  3. Curly Mop Top with Tight Temple. If you have naturally curly hair or wavy hair, you’re super lucky. The style looks fantastic and is casual and playful. Take it to the next level with a slight taper. Tapering gives it a playful edge and elevates the aesthetic. The style must look light and cannot be weighted down, oily, or greasy. Use SALT and a lightweight leave-in conditioner like Smooth to make your curls or waves more defined. Hair Cream will help control the flyaways and frizz and give curls more separation and definition.
  4. The Quiff. The style is timeless and still killing it in 2023. The Quiff has a ton of variations and options which boil down to your personal styling preference. It’s tighter on the sides and back, generally faded, and a bit longer and spiky with volume on the top.
  5. The Pompadour. This has a ton of variations and options, and another style I feel is killing it in 2023. Use SALT as a pre-styler and then some type of high-hold low-shine product like Hair Putty. With Putty, emulsify it first and then get down to the root. When styling the Pompadour, use a hair dryer to blow the hair until dry, and then use a brush or comb to enhance the volume. Lock it in place with more hair product to give it piece-y separation. You could also use Texture Powder.
  6. Classic Side Part. The style works well with most face shapes and whether your hair is thick or thin. You could go a bit shorter or more faded on the sides. It will look more polished and Ivy League if you go a bit longer. With the side part, look for higher-shine products like Pomade. But you could also go with Hair Putty, which is lower-shine, or an in-between product like Hair Clay.
  7. The Fringe. The style has a lot of variations in length depending on your personal preference, which I love because it’s playful and casual. It’s a super low-maintenance style that works great with Hair Cream and Thick thickening cream to make the hair look fuller and thicker. You can have piece-y separation as well.
  8. Bro flow. This big, bold, and beautiful hairstyle can be rocked any way you want. If you have more definition or texture to your hair, like curls or waves, it’s an incredible style. If it’s straight, you can push it back. Styling this starts with SALT, and then add a bit of Treat argan oil and work it through your hair, giving it softness and a bit of shine without weighing it down. You could get some control with Hair Paste or go more natural with Hair Cream.
  9. Buzz cut. It’s amazing, and I envy dudes with normal, non-egg-shaped heads and non-pointy little ears like mine. It’s low maintenance with different cut options. You could go super short, low fade, or high fade. The style does not require any product and is low maintenance. Combine a buzz cut with a nice light beard or other facial hair to draw the eye down and help frame and balance your face.

10 Grooming Mistakes “Good Looking” Guys NEVER Make! https://iamalpham.com/grooming-mistakes-good-looking-guys-never-make/ Mon, 15 May 2023 05:30:03 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=52840 One of the fantastic things about being well-groomed is it makes an average man good-looking. But also, some guys do things that detract from their ability to look super good. I will review some of the grooming mistakes that men should never make.
  1. Shaving a unibrow. When you shave, you see a fat cross-section of all the hairs, so when it starts to grow back, a 5:00 shadow appears. You don’t want that between your eyebrows. Instead, grab a pair of high-quality tweezers to rip the hair from the root.
  2. Not shaving your nuts. Every dude should shave his testicles, but the man bush is a personal preference. Trimming is mandatory, however. You have to take bulk down.
  3. Shaving your butt cheeks. Shaving causes the hair to grow back as ingrown and bumpy. Instead, use a grooming tool once a week.
  4. Handling hair loss poorly. Either own it or shave it. If you shave it, balance your face with facial hair. Never get a toupee. Don’t try to cover hair loss by combing it forward, either. If you’re not ready to lose your hair, visit Bosley for any stage of your hair loss.
  5. Jacked up jawline. Guys jack up the edging under their jaws and make themselves look fat and like they have a double chin. Check out my demonstration on how to shave this area properly.
  6. Growing big, nasty facial hair. Don’t look disheveled and homeless. Nobody will want to make out with you with hair growing over your lips.
  7. Having yellow teeth. Even if you have snaggle teeth, having a white smile instantly makes you look more attractive. Bleaching strips are affordable for whitening your teeth.
  8. Having unsightly body hair. Shave your back and shoulder hair. Chest hair is a personal preference, but if you’re super hairy, take the bulk down. Shaving leg hair is also a personal preference and the same with forearms.
  9. Having dandruff. And don’t walk around with a bunch of flakes on your shirt from your chin or hair. Use Pete & Pedro Control shampoo that has coal tar. Use it on your chin too, and then apply moisturizer after that.
  10. Neglecting your skin. Moisturizer skin every single day. Use a high-quality SPF moisturizer in the morning and then a nighttime version before bed.
  11. Having nasty nails. Nasty hands and feet are big deal breakers for most women. Make sure they’re not crusty, bitten, dark, and nasty. Don’t pick your cuticles, either. It’s not sexy.

7 Things Guys With {Good Hair} NEVER Do! https://iamalpham.com/things-guys-with-good-hair-never-do/ Thu, 30 Mar 2023 05:30:42 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=52647 I have good, bad, and amazing news. The new good news is that I have great hair. The bad news is that you don’t. The amazing news is that I’m going to help you fix that! I will review some things that guys with good hair never do.

You will NEVER find guys with great hair …

  1. Using an all-in-one shampoo-conditioner. Never use a shampoo-conditioner combo. These two products do different things. Shampoos clean your hair, removing oil and dirt. Conditioners replace the hydration that was lost during shampooing. If you want the sexiest hair possible, use a conditioner. It hydrates and replenishes your hair as well as smooths the hair shaft.
  2. Not using a pre-styler. Prestylers will literally change your hair’s life. You’ll get more volume, texture, and piece-y separation. You also won’t need to use as much hair product.
  3. Using cheap hair products. If you upgrade the quality of your products, you’ll see an instant difference in how your hair looks. Your hair will also be healthier because drugstore or grocery store products are low-quality and can damage and dry your hair.
  4. Using too much & the wrong product. If your hair is performing differently than you want, try using less product. Use the right amount of product. Also, use a pre-styler, emulsify your products, and work the products down to the root to cover the entire shaft. Also, too many guys think every hairstyle should use a pomade, putty, clay, or paste. Depending on your hairstyle, texture, and length, as well as what you want to do with your hair, will determine what product you should be using.
  5. Using cheap hair dryers. Not all hair dryers were created equally. Some hair dryers can damage and dry out your hair because they get too hot. If you go with something like a Dyson, it’s faster with performance but is expensive. It’s worth it because when I switched from a cheap hair dryer to this one, I noticed an immediate difference in how quickly I could style my hair and how it looked. Many people aren’t willing to spend $400 on a hair dryer. My buddy Travis did a review on a Lathan Swift hair dryer, and I had him hook me up with one. I’ll tell you, it’s the best hair dryer I’ve ever used. It is even better than the Dyson.
  6. Waiting too long between haircuts. You need to know what your cadence is. If your hair grows extra fast, you need to go in sooner. But if you have a longer hairstyle, perhaps you can push it up to 5 weeks. A pro tip is to make an appointment for your next cut before you leave the salon or shop, so you don’t wait. Don’t walk around with wack-ass grown-out hair.
  7. Forcing their hair to do something it’s not intended to do. Be honest about your hair type, texture, and density. It won’t have a flow style if you have super curly or kinky hair. On the flip side, if you have super fine hair, don’t try a hairstyle requiring a lot of volume. Use Google and search for your type of texture and face shape to get ideas. You’ll find a ton of different images and then narrow it down to one that you love and can work with.

Barber versus hair stylist

Barbers are better at fading and short hairstyles that don’t require a lot of texture or finesse. The hairstylist is better trained with scissors and razors to make piece-y separations and to give your hair depth and dimension. When you get your hair cut and styled, bring the product your presently using with you. They can help you use that product or help you choose a better product. When you’re done getting your haircut, have the barber or stylist use the product on your hair. They can help you style it better and show you how much product you should use. Always make sure to tip them!

How to choose the best style for your face shape

Check out the chart in this video that shows different hairstyles based on face shapes. You’ll get an idea and understanding of what I’m talking about, where your hair will compliment and contrast with your face.

10 Things “Good Looking” Guys NEVER Do! (Grooming Rules) https://iamalpham.com/10-things-good-looking-guys-never-do-grooming-rules/ Wed, 15 Mar 2023 05:26:50 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=52594 Everybody has a special gift. Something that you do better than anyone else. My gift is grooming, and with this gift comes a little bit of frustration. Imagine being the world’s number one men’s grooming expert, obsessing about butt hair, back hair, boogers, hair, shaving, trimming, plucking, coughing, styling, exfoliating, moisturizing, and more.

I’m always thinking about it and constantly dedicating my life to helping men with their grooming. So you can imagine the shock and frustration when somebody comes up to me and says they love my videos but look like a savage. I am passionate about you all looking super sexy. That being said, here are some of the biggest grooming mistakes still going on in 2023.

Men are STILL doing these in 2023!

  1. Big unmanscaped beards. Congratulations! You can grow a beard. Well done. But if it’s all crazy and nuts with your lips covered with nasty hair — it needs to be trimmed! You have to make sure it’s the proper length and that it’s edged properly. Have you ever seen George Lucas? He has a fat double chin with a crappy-edged beard. Check out my video, where I demonstrate the proper way.
  2. Nostrils filled with funky hair. A lot of times, this funky hair is filled with boogers to boot. Don’t be that guy with boogers hanging out of your nostril, as that’s absolutely disgusting. The simple solution is to use a nose hair trimmer. Pete and Pedro’s Nose and Ear Hair Trimmer is the best because it doesn’t tug, is USB rechargeable, and comes with attachments. You can also use it for your ears or edging your mustache. Check out the reviews.
  3. Too much product. Your hair ends up looking greasy and weighted down.
  4. Whacked skin. If you have breakouts, blackheads, blemishes, oiliness, wrinkles, dryness, or across of these, it’s fixable. You cannot underestimate the value and importance of caring for your face. You must wash your face twice daily, exfoliate twice weekly, and moisturize with an SPF in the morning and a night moisturizer. Tiege Hanley has all of the essentials.
  5. Nasty hands and nails. If you have crusty, nasty, bitten, gnarled, or long nails, it’s sickening. Grab a manicure kit like Pete and Pedro’s 8-Piece Manicure Set, which has all the tools and essential products to have sexy hands and feet.
  6. Monster man bush. You don’t need to go all bald eagle like a 12-year-old boy, but you do need to manage and trim your pubes. A big monster man bush will make your wiener look itty bitty and trap odor, making it smell funky.
  7. Funky nuts. If you have balls, you must powder them daily by dunking them and jostling them after a shower. Then take some powder up the booty crack because you don’t want swamp ass. Pete & Pedro’s Body and Balls Powder has three talc-free versions: fresh, unscented, and frost.
  8. Cheap products. Whether or not purchasing a shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, or powder from a drugstore or grocery store, it’s most likely low quality, meaning it will have EDC chemicals. These chemicals crush men’s testosterone levels and lower sperm counts. The biggest offender is antiperspirant deodorants because the aluminum will clog sweat ducts and cause toxic chemical buildup in the lymph system. Pete & Pedro’s Fresh Deodorant is aluminum-free and natural.
  9. Not exfoliating. Exfoliate in the shower before shaving your chest or any body part. If not, the hair will get trapped, and breakouts and blemishes will result. There’s nothing sexy about chest or back acne.
  10. Back hair. Get rid of that back hair ASAP.

To shave or to use a grooming tool

  • Shaving is appropriate on your chest, shoulders, arms, legs, balls, and base of Big Al.
  • A grooming tool (like my favorite by Brio) should be used for the pubic region because a razor will create ingrown hairs. Also, use the grooming tool on your butt cheeks because if you shave, you’ll feel like you’re sitting on a porcupine when it grows back.
  • BTW, don’t listen to other people. Don’t let people tell you it’s not ‘manly’ if you shave a specific body part, groom a certain way, have a particular hairstyle, or tweeze a certain area. Tell them to suck it.

8 Everyday Mistakes KILLING Your Hair! https://iamalpham.com/everyday-mistakes-killing-mens-hair/ Thu, 29 Dec 2022 06:30:33 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=52197 Stop damaging those luscious locks of healthy amazingness by making some of these stupid-ass (but common) hair styling mistakes so many guys are making these days!

You’re destroying the health of your hair by …

  1. Using a shampoo + conditioner combo. This type of product does not work because shampoos do one thing and conditioners do another. Make sure you’re using the proper shampoo. If your hair is dry and brittle, use a hydrating shampoo with argan oil to hydrate your hair. If you have fine hair, use the volumizing shampoo with biotin and rice protein to strengthen and thicken the hair shaft. A standard deep cleansing shampoo with tea tree oil is fantastic if your hair is normal because it won’t strip all the good hydration out.
  2. Not using conditioner. Everyone should use a conditioner at least once a week, ideally twice a week. Apply a little bit and get down to the scalp. Leave it for about 5 minutes to replenish and replace the hydration in your hair. Different conditioners help different hair types as well. Take the quiz and see what’s best for you.
  3. Purchasing low-quality hair products. Drug-store and grocery store hair products charge so little because the ingredients are cheap, drying out and damaging your hair. Many of them contain alcohol, parabens, and sulfites. Spend more money to get a higher quality product infused with healthy ingredients.
  4. Using the wrong product for your hair type and/or style. Choose a product based on your hair type, hold needed, and shine desired. Check out what hairstyling product you should use by taking this quiz.
  5. Using way too much hair product. You should only need to use a little product; if you need a ton, you are using the wrong product.
  6. Not emulsifying. You need to heat up and activate your product in your hands before applying. And then, make sure to run the product through your hair thoroughly.
  7. Not using a pre-styler. Take your hairstyle to the next level by using a sea salt pre-styler after showering. Towel dry your hair, apply a few squirts, and work it through. After that, apply your product as usual. You’ll have extra volume with texture, and you also won’t need as much of your other hair product.
  8. Not getting enough nutrients. Make sure you have enough micronutrients that your hair needs to be healthy such as biotin, which can be taken daily in gummies. Your hair will be stronger and grow faster. Nutrafol hair growth supplement is costly, but it’s a healthy way to regrow hair. Pete & Pedro’s whole food multivitamin is great for overall physical micronutrient needs and for your hair and scalp health. Combine it with extra biotin, and game over; your hair is the winner.

How to Get A BETTER Haircut From Your Barber {The 5P Method}! https://iamalpham.com/get-best-haircut-possible-barber-stylist/ Mon, 03 Oct 2022 14:00:59 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=51664 Today I’m going out to get my haircut with Stephen at Salon Posta after a guy jacked up my haircut so bad when I was out of town. My issue got me thinking about how you can minimize potential bad haircut situations. Five steps are needed to ensure you get the best haircut possible.

Ensure you get THE BEST haircut possible!

  1. Punctual. You have to make sure you’re on time for your haircut because there’s nothing that will potentially jack up your haircut if your stylist or barber is rushing to get you done when you didn’t plan appropriately. Stylists and barbers are on tight schedules, so if you’re late, you won’t get the best haircut possible.
  2. Plan. Plan before sitting down in the chair to direct your stylist or barber to give you a better cut. The more prepared you can be when you go in to see your barber or stylist, the better job they will be able to do. Google search for a hairstyle similar to what you are looking for with your hair texture. Save it to your phone. I would have one or two options to show them.
  3. Polite. When you walk into a salon, being a gentleman starts at the door, including the receptionist or person checking you in. Everyone deserves a ‘thank you,’ including both the person who washes your hair and the person cutting it. How you request that they handle your visit is also something that needs to be polite. Don’t be rude or say something ignorant.
  4. Product. Bring the products you typically use to style your hair with you. Then, the stylist or barber can show you how to use them properly. And if you’re using new products, a learning curve may happen, which your stylist or barber can help you through. I use Pete & Pedro Sea SALT Spray + Hair Putty. When applying any hair product, ensure you get it down to the root and cover the entire hair shaft. I also love Pete & Pedro’s Texture Powder which will give you crazy volume without much product or weight in your hair. Check out this tutorial.
  5. Pay. You need to tip after your service. You need to tip not only the person who cut your hair but also the person who washed your hair. Today I’m giving Stephen an extra tip with Legend. It’s a new Pete & Pedro fragrance inspired by Tom Ford’s F*cking Fabulous. Last, when you go up to pay, make sure you book your next appointment because the worst thing you could do is wait. Schedule it every 3 weeks; that way, your hair will always look amazing!

7 BEST Quick & Easy Men’s Hairstyles of 2022 {That Women LOVE}! https://iamalpham.com/2022-mens-hairstyles-quick-easy-women-love/ Thu, 05 May 2022 05:30:26 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=51117 I have been so excited to see what’s happening in the men’s hair world in 2022. As most of you know, I own Pete & Pedro  but I’m also part owner of a salon, Salon Posta. What I’ve been seeing in terms of guys’ hair is exciting because men are embracing their natural flow and stepping a little bit outside of the box. I’m going over seven of the sexiest styles that guys are rocking in 2022. I’m also going to go over what products to use if you’re interested in trying one of the styles.

Sexiest men’s hairstyles of 2022

  1. Curls – embracing natural curly hair texture is sexy. Combining it with a type of low fade takes it to the next level. Your curls don’t have to be crunchy or stiff. Use the right product for natural, soft, and sexy. Using Hair Cream as a leave-in conditioner will offer a bit of hold and keep everything together with a bit of shine. If you want to add more volume, you can use Sea SALT Spray as a pre-styler. Also, Thick is a low hold texturizing cream that will add volume.
  2. Caesar or French Crew – basically a high fade that is a bit fringy and messy on top. The style works great for both thick and thin hair as well as receding hairlines. The trick is texture, so when you see the stylist ask for razoring. I recommend a pre-styler Sea SALT Spray for more volume and texture. And then, if you have thick hair, use Hair Putty for high hold and low shine. And if you have thin hair or fine hair, use Hair Clay for a bit later texture with a nice matte finish and a bit of hold.
  3. Modern Mullet – the modern mullet looks incredible, and a few different options are available for styling. You can go short and textured on top and let it grow a little longer in the back with tapering on the sides. Or you could go with a modified quiff that’s messy. Grow it a little longer and have the back a little longer as long as the sides are short. I recommend the Sea SALT Spray to add weightless volume and texture, which will also make your other products work better. If your hair is a bit longer, opt for Hair Paste to add a bit of shine and hold that is not crunchy. For a more natural look and feel, go for Thick texturizing cream. If your hair is short, texture, and spiky, go with Hair Clay or Hair Putty.
  4. Curtains – back from the 1990s. It looks better when the part is a bit off-center; straight down the center seems a bit nerdy. You don’t want your hair to look wet and oily or greasy, so opt for Hair Paste that has less hold and just a touch of shine. If you want to go a bit more natural and add more volume and texture, use Thick texture cream.
  5. Classic Side Part – looks amazing on everybody. You can go different lengths to fit your personality, and then you can style it a bit dressy & sexy just by adding a little more shine. Check out my demonstration on how to side part your hair. Opt for Hair Pomade for a very clean and crisp look. If you want to go a bit more natural, choose Hair Clay.
  6. F Boy Flow – longer hair that is more primal and animalistic. This style is definitely sexy. Use a Sea SALT Spray and Thick texturizing cream (a lighter hold product will give you the ability to control flyaways and frizz).
  7. Buzzcut – super short. You can also go for the low fade, which is tighter on the top, or do one length all over. It’s even sexier when you combine it with some type of facial hair. This style doesn’t need any styling product and is very low maintenance. You still need to shampoo to remove dirt and oil. Don’t use body soap or body wash. Invest in a high-quality daily shampoo. Pete and Pedro’s shampoos Clean or Bold are game-changers. You could also opt for Hydrate shampoo with argan oil or Volume shampoo packed with biotin and rice protein. How to Pick the PERFECT Hairstyle for YOUR Face Shape! {Tutorial} https://iamalpham.com/how-to-pick-the-perfect-hairstyle-for-your-face-shape-tutorial/ https://iamalpham.com/how-to-pick-the-perfect-hairstyle-for-your-face-shape-tutorial/#comments Thu, 24 Feb 2022 06:30:39 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=50798 This video tutorial has three parts: easy tips to choose the best hairstyle for your face shape, product selection tips for your hairstyle, and an Alpha M. hairstyling tutorial.

What face shape do you have?

  • Take a selfie.
  • Draw each (round, square, triangle, oval) over the top of your face.
  • Which most closely represents you?

TRIANGLE/DIAMOND/HEART: this face shape has a pointy chin. Most hairstyles look good on this face shape because they are a blend and balance between softness and angularity. Avoid boxy haircuts, however. Because of the narrow chin, facial hair will balance your face. You want to go natural and softer. Don’t do goatees or soul patches.

OVAL: this is the best shape. You can rock any hairstyle or facial hair you want. You need to be honest with your selections by making sure your hair is up for the challenge. Google your hair texture and type—the more detailed, the more valuable the choices. With your facial hair, be honest with it (if it’s patchy, for example).

SQUARE: this face shape has a blocky jaw and angular on the sides. You want to avoid structured and angular hairstyles — you need to soften the angles. Fringy styles and longer on the sides are the best. For facial hair, you may want to soften the line for the 5 o’clock shadow. Instead of a harsh angle or edge, go more natural. You will look better with a little neck beard/stubble. Avoid anything that is too boxy.

ROUND: this face shape has a lack of angles. You need a more structured hairstyle. Do not wear soft hairstyles. Shoot for tight on the sides and soft on the top. Never grow a big, bushy beard — it’s all about contrast, so you need shorter on the sides and taper. Let your chin hair be longer than the sides. Shave your sideburns to the angle too.

What type of hair do you have?

Determine what type of hair do you have — wavy, curly, straight, fine, thin, thick, receding, widow’s peak.

Now go to Google and see the results in Images. When you find an option that you think it’s perfect, save it to your phone. Take the picture to your stylist or barber.

Proper hair product selection

Opt for high quality products instead of products from a drugstore that potentially could damage your hair. My hair means a lot to me, so I invest in products that are good for my hair and work best. Make sure you take your styling products with you to your stylist or barber. Pete & Pedro products are quality with infused essential oils and natural botanicals. Check out the Pete & Pedro hair and grooming quizzes.

  • Hair putty – high hold and low shine. They are stiff but not as stiff as gel. It’s not quite as ‘crunchy as gel’. It’s a more natural look with a matte finish.
  • Hair Clay – hold is all over the board (gritty texture to lighter control) with low shine. It’s great for adding thickness, texture, and dimension to your hair.
  • Hair Paste – medium hold and medium shine for guys with medium to long hair.
  • Pomade — medium to low hold (depending on brand) with high shine. They are great for short to medium length hair styles and great for slicking 50s and 60s styles.
  • SALT — adds volume and texture as a prestyler.
  • Conditioner — every guy needs to use a conditioner.
  • Shampoo — if you have normal hair, normal shampoo is for you. For dandruff, use a shampoo with coal tar. Dry brittle hair should have a hydrating shampoo with argan oil. Thin or fine hair should have a biotin and rice protein volume shampoo.

7 SEXY Men’s Hairstyles That Girls LOVE! https://iamalpham.com/sexy-mens-hairstyles-that-girls-love/ Mon, 13 Sep 2021 05:30:51 +0000 https://alpham.com/?p=50210 We’ve seen a drastic shift in men’s hairstyles in the last two years, including length and the amount of time styling. It makes sense because barbershops were closed or people didn’t feel comfortable going to the salon. These NEW 2021 styles are dynamite — fresh and casual. They’ll let you step out of your hairstyle box too.

The sexiest men’s hairstyles of 2021

  1. French crew — it’s a modified Caesar cut, a bit messy and all about texture.
  2. Killer curls — men are no longer trying to straighten their curls, but instead, they now embrace the natural texture of their locks. Use argan oil or a leave-in conditioner.
  3. Buzz cut or short crew — it’s amazing and looks incredible. It’s perfect for dudes who don’t want to mess with hair and/or product or are balding.
  4. Medium length casual flow — hair grown a bit longer, but it has to go through an awkward stage.
  5. Side part — it’s one of the most perfect hairstyles and is timeless. It works with most lengths as well. It’s quick and easy; check out my Alpha M. hair part hack.
  6. Pompadour — more volume is on the top, and it’s a versatile hairstyle (tight, long, natural, bald). My pro tip for styling is to use a pre-styler (like a sea salt spray) to give lift and volume.
  7. Long hair — Jason Momoa is who we think of in regard to this hairstyle. It’s badass and sexy with typically a center part. Try a man bun with long hair. Use an argan oil for nourishment and shine as well as sea salt spray to calm frizz. A leave-in conditioner is another option.

Bosley

Stop hair loss — take action as soon as possible and take the Bosley hair loss quiz. You can also grab with hair loss guide and $250 gift card to be used with Bosley. You can also get hair loss medication shipped to your house through Bosley Rx.

7 BIGGEST Hairstyle Mistakes Men Make & How to Fix Them! https://iamalpham.com/7-biggest-hairstyle-mistakes-men-make-how-to-fix-them/ Thu, 26 Aug 2021 05:30:08 +0000 https://iamalpham.com/?p=50114 I need a haircut! So, come along with me to Salon Posta — and then after the cut, you can see how I style it. It’s been awhile since I did a tutorial. And while I’m there, I’ll ask the stylists what the biggest mistakes men make with their hairstyle.

Hair Gaffes + Solutions

  1. Not knowing how to properly style their hair — take the product you’re using when you go to your stylist and barber. Allow them to use your product if it’s appropriate for your hair and have them walk you through the process.
  2. Not researching what’s the best product for your hair; not selecting quality hair products — drugstore products are cheap and low quality. And chances are, they’ll damage your hair over time with low quality ingredients. Invest in quality products that are (a) good for your hair and (b) will perform better.
  3. Using a two-in-one shampoo — these products have too many detergents. Plus you can’t have a good shampoo AND hydration in the same product. Three-in-one is gross as well. You need to shampoo first and then follow with a conditioner for healthier hair.
  4. Balding men that comb over — they are nasty! Either shave it or go to Bosley (the hair doctors). Also, don’t get a hair piece.
  5. Too much product — less is more. If you need a lot of product, it’s probably the wrong product for your hairstyle. You also may need a pre-styler like Pete & Pedro’s Sea SALT Spray for texture and volume. Crunchy curls are the worst too — use a leave-in conditioner like Pete & Pedro Cream.
  6. Not keeping your hair maintained — make an appointment on your way out of the salon or barber to keep you on schedule.
  7. Being in a hairstyle rut — ask the stylist or barber their suggestion(s)
